the course is a fantastic opportunity for all students, both those who have just started their adventure with photography and those who already have had some experience in this field. participants will learn how to operate in studio space, how to approach a model in order to achieve the very unique portraiture experience. our workshops are not only limited to one genre of models and will give students a chance to work with variety of people who all have one thing in common – they work professionally in front of lens: fashion models, alternative models, theatre actors.
the main task is to give students a chance to explore practical, creative ways of using studio space and model's crucial attributes.

MadArt Gallery proudly invites you to a photographic event like never seen before as a part of PhotoIreland 2011.
Four Floors Photography Exhibition will be held by MadArt Gallery on four floors of beautiful, old georgian building converted into a massive artspace and located Dublin City Center. The show will be a fantastic opportunity for both photography professionals and enthusiasts to present their work to a wider audience.
The exhibition will be held from 19th of July to 31st of July. The opening night will be held on 21st of July at 6pm.
The idea of Four Floors is to provide artists with unique space and give the viewers an exceptional chance to experience variety of styles and individual approaches to photography medium.
The exhibition will be held on four floors and divided into four groups:
1st floor: Exposure v2.0 Photography Show
2nd floor: De Look - works by Artur Postrzech and Halinka Garycka
3rd floor: Digital Art show
4th floor: The Prism - surrealistic visions
The submission call is now due to be announced.
The event is curated and co-ordinated by photographer Karol Liver, Sofia Monika Swatek and Hubert Szyperski.

What made you want to take part in the calendar?
What made you want to take part in the calendar?
I was invited to take a part in the project by a friend of mine, Irish model and businesswoman Melissa Hayward, with whom I have collaborated many times before. It was such a noble cause I didn't hesitate a second when I was asked to participate and organise a photoshoot especially for this occasion.
What do you think of the controversy that has emerged over the recent photos - in specific the 'breastfeeding' picture?
The "controversy" is a word - it is usually used to describe a certain attitude in relation to an issue or subject being exposed to a public view and everybody has an attitude of her/his own. It is also a matter of feelings and perception. It is totally up to an audience and their feelings to see either the artistic or controversial side of an image. It simply gives the spectator a chance to decide which way to follow using perception. I myself absolutely see no signs of "controversy" being "engraved" onto the surface of picture, from my point of view it is a pure artistic expression, a form to underline, in easiest words, that animals should be treated equal to people, should be taken care of if needed and their right as a living-beings should always be respected.

The rules are simple. Are you a photographer or photography-related artist that wants to exhibit his/her works without drying the pocket out? Then come to D-Light Studios and be a part of Homeless Gallery.
Rules:
- anybody can exhibit their works
- no restriction as of what kind of works to exhibit
- no censorship, no guardianship, no selection, nothing, nada, zero!
- you decide what you want to put on walls
- no restriction as of how many pieces can one exhibit
- the only restriction is an artspace and artists' imagination. surprise us!
- artists are the ones responsible for hanging the works on walls and ceilings and stairs and .. wherever they want to place it!
- it's all about photography, integration and fun!

The first PhotoIreland Festival will take place this July and to celebrate, D-light Studios will be hosting the Homeless Gallery.
The HOMELESS GALLERY is an un-curated exhibition and is open to all photographers who wish to exhibit their work.
The whole idea of the HOMELESS GALLERY is that there are no entry criteria. It is open to all artists. What is eventually shown during an exhibition depends solely on the participants own self-censorship. We do not pick the participants everybody can show their work: star photographers, professionals, those just starting in photography, students and amateurs. We do not select their work either – we have no demands as to subject, technique, format or number of photographs shown. The photographs themselves can be shown in gilt frames, or just prints stuck on the wall.
The opening of the HOMELESS GALLERY will be on the 4th of July at 11.00am. A day before on 3rd of July all the participants arrive with their photographs and an assortment of equipment needed to hang them. Everybody then finds a piece of wall for themselves (or ceiling, or floor), and hangs their work. All sorts of unconventional forms of display are welcome. The gallery will stay open till Wednesday 7th of July.
The HOMELESS GALLERY exists to enable everybody to show their work publicly, those who for various reasons would have no chance to show their work to the world. It is for those who cannot afford a prestigious gallery, and for those who would never even think of doing so. It is a chance to be noticed for photography students, and those just entering photography. For professionals it is a chance of showing some of their more personal work that never finds its way into their commercial portfolios. For amateurs it is a chance of showing their work to people other than their nearest family and friends. For those who are shy, it is a chance to pull out those photographs hidden away in drawers.
This exhibition is a fantastic opportunity for professionals, amateurs, students and enthusiasts to congregate and collectively showcase their work without censorship.

this time something different.. while recently being back home i have found a secret stash filled with some absolutely amazing old film prints! some of them are dated back to 30s/40s and are of my grandparent's childhood times. some of them are in a really pitiful conditions, all b&w or sephia toned marked with flow of time upon their surface. they're touching! so i just decided to give them a little re-touch in return.. scanned dozens of them, now working on them, even painting them a little bit if possible..

while cleaning and backuping my old hdd i've found lotta dusted small things related to zest riddle - packed files, concept riddles that were never used, graphic files from fans, very early graphical concepts and references, title screens, buttons etc.. so i decided to dig some of that interesting, nostalgic stuff through in order to select a bunch of files for fans to view and enjoy.. if somebody's into zest and know how the project has been developed thoughout those few last years will not be disappointed i believe.

ze?t riddle is.. 5 years old
ze?t online riddle (zest riddle) is an online project created and designed by karol liver (huh! that is me..), launched exactly five years ago on 21st of December 2004..
since then many followed the path of insanity and tried to cheat misterious OZ and its riddles.. zest, with over 1.5 millions unique hits and strong internet community involved (large international forum and groups on facebook, orkut, last.fm and more) is now considered to be one of the hardest (if not the hardest one) online puzzles available on the internet.. the task is simple by definition - your object is to advance to the next riddle by finding clues in the bizarre and abstract images and hints. sounds easy? give it a try!
ze?t riddle is themed to surrealist, gothic imagery, bizzare sound effects and many influances from pop-culture refrences, such as 'alice in wonderland", "the wizard of Oz" and many more..
ze?t is a complete, finished project that took over three years of my life away...
it may be an oldie now, but it's still there, strong and ready to consume another victims of their curiosity...

I've had a pleasure to participate in this lovely project as a Marketing Director, after few months of hard work STARGAZE* is finally going to be aired this weekend! can't wait!
On Sunday 27th September, 2009 from 10am to 10pm, D-light Studios will host Stargaze*: a day of art, performance, music, food, creative workshops and relaxation treatments. As the summer festivals draw to a close, D-light Studios will present a chilled day where you can wrap yourself in a Buddha bag, eat some tasty freshly baked bread, listen to some live jazz or some chilled tunes from some of Dublin's best DJs and music makers, get a massage, peruse the crafts fair, witness some avant-garde theatrical performance, take part in a burlesque masterclass and take in some exciting, dynamic, challenging and interactive art.
Contemporary artist Áine Macken, will curate a collection of Ireland's most established artistic talents showcasing sculpture, photography, painting, installation, performance, graffiti and video. Much of the work will deal with a take on the idea of Stargaze* as a day for spiritual revival and awakening, and how one can choose to investigate the problems, curiosities and contradictions that may arise from defining the ideas of creativity and spirituality in the context of a contemporary suburban Dublin.
Some of the artists involved include; Catherine Harty, Alan Clarke, Maser, Killian Redmond, Jason Dunne, Aoife Giles, Aoife De Búrca, Cecillia Bullo, Emer Roberts, Gerry Lee, Geraldine Lane, Gaetan Billault, Emily Aoibheann, Lucy McKenna, GIB, Duffy Mooney Shepard, Emma Dwan O'Reilly, Cliona O'Flaherty, Chris Judge, Fionn Kidney, Adrian Gallagher, Morgan Art, Bennie Reilly, Feargal O'Malley, Paul Kelly, Maciek Peska, Peter Neill, Ian O'Neill, Sharon Murphy, Claudia Marion, Wojtek Wojcik, Daria Pietryka, and Fiona Walsh, Agata Stoinska, Lorna Fitzsimons, and Caroline Lynch.
Live music and DJ’s will set a relaxed, mellow atmosphere including jazz and acoustic sets from some of the city’s finest bands and music makers. Street performers will entertain throughout the day. Including Supersuperdisco, Ciarán Rua and Alice Kain, The Alistair Elliman Trio, Luke Brother, Stace Gill, Phonic Athletic, Orphan Code, and Neosupervital
The evening will culminate in a series of performances from salsa dancing and burlesque to exotic.
Theatre group Come as Soon as you Hear will present a theatrical piece; Meet You There - "On a stool by the bar sits a girl with a scar and a broken heart. Sit with her awhile and hold her hand and see if you can help. Follow the trail, put the pieces together. A game, a treasure hunt of sorts. But it's a secret."
A secluded screening room will also showcase up and coming works by full-length and short film makers, while also featuring music videos and visual music projections.
Meanwhile, the craft area will be a source of interactive experiences such as salsa dancing, live art, origami, knitting circles, creative writing and graffiti demonstrations.
Complimentary snacks and refreshments will also be provided on the day. There is a fee of €10 at the door.
